Hello Breogan2008,

ᎣᏏᏲ, ᏙᎯᏧ?

I don't really speak Cherokee. I have just been studying it off and on for a few years. I am also interested in endangered languages and I chose Cherokee because of their writing system. I lived and worked in Japan for many years and I speak Japanese and Russian. I saw that you have a link to cherokee.org on your page. Did you know that they have online Cherokee lessons that are free? The next series will begin next week. Here's the schedule and a link if you are interested. Spring 2018 Semester Class Times:

Cherokee 1A - Mondays & Wednesdays 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM (Central Time)

Cherokee 1B - Mondays & Wednesdays 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM (Central Time)

Cherokee 1C - Tuesdays & Thursdays 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM (Central Time)

Cherokee 1D - Tuesdays & Thursdays 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM (Central Time)

Cherokee 2A - Mondays & Wednesdays 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM (Central Time)

Cherokee 2B - Mondays & Wednesdays 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM (Central Time)

Cherokee 2D - Tuesdays & Thursdays 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM (Central Time)

In case the class you want is full, there is also an archive of past lessons. Here's the link:

(You'll need to scroll down the page to see the links.)

Good luck!

Sorry I took so long to respond. I guess it has been about a year and a half since I logged in to make any edits. Normally, I don't bother logging in, but I will be sure to do so in the future.

Stubs like this and this are not helpful. They are very likely to get deleted unless you can provide at least brief descriptions (in Cherokee) of the topics. If you can't write even the simplest sentences in Cherokee, then you should not be creating articles here. - dcljr (talk) 00:34, 31 ᎫᏰᏉᏂ 2025 (UTC)Reply
