Summary

ᏄᏍᏛ ᏗᎧᏃᏗ
English: The inhibitory mechanism of serpins involved a large conformation change.The serpin (white) first binds a protease (grey) with the reactive centre loop (blue). When cleaved by the protease, this loop rapidly inserts into the A-sheet (light blue), deforming and inhibiting the protease. (PDB: 1K9O​, 1EZX​)
